Crowned Welsh Player of the Year in 1999, Jones has had a major contribution in the club's continued success in staying in the Premiership since his £900,000 arrival from Stockport in July 1997.

The Welsh international took over from the great Neville Southall between the posts for his country, and he has been a solid figure for the Saints.

Jones started his league career with Wolves making a total of 44 appearances after signing from Kidderminster Harriers for £40,000 in 1991. After five years at Molineux, lack of first team opportunities prompted his move to Stockport for £60,000. 65 appearances later and Jones was on his way to The Dell, where he has played 78 times prior to the start of this season.

Jonah suffered a serious back injury toward the end of the 1999-00 campaign and underwent surgery to remove a disc in the summer.
He appears to have fully recovered from the problem and is fit and happy to go head-to head with Neil Moss for the goalkeeper's jersey.
